Welcome to the Carnation Barn Concerts web site!
The next show in the Carnation
Barn Concert season is Friday, July 12th with Ryan McKasson & Dave Bartley followed the next night, July 13, by Uncle
Bonsai. The concerts are at 7:30PM. Doors open 3o minutes prior to the show.
Ryan McKasson is a 2 time Scottish fiddle
champion and Dave Bartley has played with the Seattle Symphonie and has appeared in the barn twice with Rouge. Their
performance here is partially underwritten by the National Endowment for the Arts. Tickets are only available at the
door and are only $5.00. It will be a great show.
The Seattle trio Uncle Bonsai, now in their 31st year, performs original, contemporary folk/pop music.
With their soaring and intricate 3-part vocal harmonies and biting humor, accompanied by only an acoustic guitar, Arni Adler,
Patrice O'Neill, and Andrew Ratshin deliver poignantly unflinching portrayals of life, love, and a guy named Doug. The trio's
influences range from the Beatles to Stephen Sondheim. Some say Zappa cross-bred with Peter, Paul and Mary. Loudon Wainwright
III, the Roches. Three tightly tiered and adhered voices, acoustic guitar. That's it. Nearly naked folk-pop for everyone.
This is their first time at the barn and it will be a special night.
Tickets for Uncle Bonsai and the other shows are $10. You can either get them at the door or through Brown
Paper Tickets (www.brownpapertickets.com).
The remaining shows are: August 10 - Del Rey; August 24 - Kate MacLeod & Kat Eggleston; September 7 - Swil Kanim;

as part of the Arts Celebration. More details later.
